Your Permit Says “Install Tree Protection.” We Do That.
If your building, pool or landscape permit has tree protection conditions, the hoarding usually has to be installed and inspected before work can start. You can hire us directly. You don’t need to wait for your contractor to arrange it.
What you’ll usually have
A permit with tree conditions, a site plan, or an arborist’s Tree Protection Plan. Send us whatever you have.
What we do
Read your City’s requirements, build the barrier to spec (snow fence or plywood), and mount the required sign.
Working with a contractor?
No problem. We can coordinate with your builder so the hoarding is in place when they need it.
Need an arborist first?
If your permit needs an arborist report or Tree Protection Plan and you don’t have one yet, we can recommend an arborist. Once the report is done, we build what it calls for.

Homeowner FAQ
Do I need tree protection fencing for a building permit?
If the work could affect a protected tree, your municipality will usually require it, and it often has to be inspected before work starts. Some cities, like Toronto and Burlington, also ask for a Tree Declaration Form with the building permit application.
Does it protect my neighbour’s tree too?
It can. Oakville and Vaughan both include neighbouring trees within 6 m of the site.
How far from the trunk does it go?
It depends on the trunk diameter and your municipality. Each City page has the official distance table.
Can I build it myself?
Yes, if you build it to your City’s spec. Each City page lists what’s required, with links to the official documents.
Do you build to the arborist report?
Yes. We build what the arborist report states: the protection zones, the barrier type and any extra measures it calls for. Where the report asks for more than the City minimum, we build to the report.
Can you recommend an arborist?
Yes. If your permit needs an arborist report or Tree Protection Plan and you don’t have one yet, tell us when you get in touch and we’ll recommend an arborist.
Need it installed?
Send us your permit conditions, site plan or arborist’s Tree Protection Plan and we’ll quote it to your municipality’s spec.
