TREE PROTECTION HOARDING · GTA + NIAGARA

Tree Protection Zones.
Built to Spec.

City-required tree protection hoarding, installed to your municipality’s standard and ready for Forestry inspection before your work starts. Snow-fence or plywood, whatever your City requires. Hire us directly or through your contractor.

Why it matters

No hoarding, no start.

Most municipalities won’t let permitted work begin until tree protection is installed and inspected. Fencing that’s built wrong, too close to the trunk, missing the sign, or not to the City’s detail fails inspection and holds up the job.

We build it right the first time, to the spec on your permit or arborist’s Tree Protection Plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need tree protection hoarding?

If your permit or approval conditions call for it, or your work comes within the protection zone of a protected tree, usually yes. Each municipality sets its own rules, so check your City’s page or your permit conditions.

How far from the tree does it go?

It depends on the trunk diameter and the municipality. A 35 cm tree, for example, needs a 2.4 m zone in Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, Vaughan and Richmond Hill, but 3.0 m in Oakville.

Snow fence or plywood?

Whatever your City requires. Toronto’s standard is 8′ plywood hoarding and Markham’s is ¾” plywood, while Burlington’s is snow fence on a 2×4 frame. Some cities require plywood only where machinery or stockpiles are close.

Who removes it?

Most municipalities require their authorization before tree protection comes down. We can remove it after sign-off, priced separately.

Can I build it myself?

Yes, if it’s built to your City’s spec. Each City page lists what’s required, with links to the official documents.

Does it cover my neighbour’s tree?

It can. Oakville and Vaughan both include neighbouring trees within 6 m of the site.

Do you build to the arborist report?

Yes. We build what the arborist report states: the protection zones, the barrier type and any extra measures it calls for. Where the report asks for more than the City minimum, we build to the report.

Can you recommend an arborist?

Yes. If your permit needs an arborist report or Tree Protection Plan and you don’t have one yet, tell us when you get in touch and we’ll recommend an arborist.
